EXPERT SUPPORT AND RESOURCES

  • How do I monitor wear on Aribelt?
Aribelt is compatible with the Aramid Monitoring Device, which tracks wear in real time and supports proactive maintenance planning.
  • What is the elongation of Aribelt 30 F3.4?
Aribelt has a low elongation range of 0.25–0.27 mm at nominal load, ensuring consistent ride performance and minimal stretch over time.
  • Can Aribelt be used in high-traffic or commercial buildings?
Yes. While optimized for low- to mid-rise systems, Aribelt’s strength and durability make it suitable for a variety of applications, including commercial settings.
  • How does Aribelt perform during emergency braking?
The belt’s aramid reinforcement is engineered to withstand the high stress of emergency braking. However, performance must always be calculated on a project-specific basis.
  • Is lubrication required?
No lubrication is required. Aribelt’s dry, synthetic construction eliminates oil use and minimizes contamination risk.
  • How does Aribelt compare to steel-reinforced belts?
Aribelt is lighter, corrosion-resistant, and maintains flexibility over time. It provides equal or better performance with improved energy efficiency, quieter operation, and a smoother ride.
  • Can Aribelt help reduce space requirements?
Yes. Aribelt enables the use of compact motors and 80 mm traction sheaves, allowing for smaller shafts and reduced machine room requirements—freeing up valuable space in the building.
  • Is Aribelt certified?
Yes. Aribelt 30 F3.4 is TÜV-certified and complies with EN 81-20 and EN 81-50 standards.
  • Does Aramid degrade over time?
Aramid fibers are highly resistant to fatigue, corrosion, and heat. However, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can impact the polyurethane surface over time. Because of this, we recommend shielding belts from UV exposure during storage or installation.
  • Is Aribelt compatible with standard elevator sheaves?
Aribelt is designed for smooth, ungrooved traction sheaves with a minimum diameter of 80 mm. It is compatible with many belt-based elevator systems, but not with grooved sheaves
  • How does ride comfort compare to steel systems?
Aribelt offers superior ride comfort by eliminating the progressive stiffening that occurs in steel belts over time. Its aramid cords maintain consistent flexibility, reducing shocks and jerky motion—especially during acceleration, deceleration, and leveling. Passengers experience smoother, quieter rides from day one, with consistent comfort throughout the belt’s lifespan.
  • How long does Aribelt last?
Aribelt is TÜV certified for 15 years or up to 18 million simple bending cycles. Reverse bending is also permitted.
  • Does Aribelt need regular maintenance?
No lubrication is needed, and condition monitoring can be handled digitally using Aritec’s Aramid Monitoring Device—minimizing downtime and maintenance costs.
  • Will this reduce energy consumption?
Yes. Aribelt’s lightweight construction reduces motor load, lowering energy consumption and operating costs.
  • Is it safe for residential and commercial use?
Yes. Aribelt is TÜV-certified, flame retardant, and fully compliant with EN 81-20 and EN 81-50 safety standards.
  • How does ride comfort compare to steel systems?
Aribelt delivers smoother, quieter rides thanks to its flexible synthetic structure and vibration-dampening properties. It performs at or above the comfort level of traditional steel-based systems.
  • What’s the maximum load capacity?
With a breaking load of 43 kN and TÜV certification, Aribelt can support up to 1000 kg using just 3 belts, depending on system configuration.
  • Can we request custom belt lengths?
Yes. Aritec provides custom belt lengths and configurations tailored to your system requirements.
  • Can Aribelt be integrated into new systems?
Yes. Aribelt is ideal for low- to mid-rise elevators and supports compact system design with smaller shafts and reduced motor size.
  • Does it work with gearless motors?
Yes. Aribelt is compatible with both geared and gearless machines.
  • Can I use existing traction sheaves for belt?
Yes—if the sheave is smooth (not grooved) and has a minimum diameter of 80 mm. Aribelt is not compatible with grooved steel rope sheaves.
  • Do I need special tools to install Aribelt?
No. Standard elevator belt installation tools are sufficient.
  • How do I know when to replace the belt?
Use the optional Aramid Monitoring Device to track belt condition in real time and schedule replacements proactively. Otherwise, Aribelt is rated for 15 years or 18 million simple bending cycles.
  • Is Aribelt easy to install?
Yes. Its flat, symmetrical design simplifies alignment and reduces the risk of installation errors.
